Social Snapshot and Poverty In Armenia (29/11/2011)

On November 29, 2011 National Statistical Service Republic of Armenia (NSS RA) presented the report on "Social Snapshot and Poverty in Armenia". Millennium Challenge Account- Armenia was also invited to participate in that presentation. Ara Hovsepyan, MCA-Armenia SNCO CEO, during his welcoming speech highly valued the corporation with National Statistical Service noting that the NSS RA had been an effective and reliable partner during these five years.

Starting from January, 2007, MCA-Armenia SNCO has been co-funding the Integrated Living Conditions Survey (ILCS) implemented annually by the NSS RA. During 2007-2011 among other activities the data obtained from researches were used to assess the impact of the Program. For that purpose MCA-Armenia has increased rural sample and improved agricultural sector of the questionnaire in about 2500 households.
Over the last five years Millennium Challenge Corporation's (MCC) experts provided guidance to the NSS RA experts on alignment of ILCS population counts
