RURAL ROADS REHABILITATION
Contracts
Six contracts signed for the rehabilitation of Package 1 of the Rural Roads Rehabilitation Program include 273 kilometers of rural roads grouped into the six lots. The six winning construction companies are:
1. Joint venture of "Kapavor Ltd.", "Kotayk Roads Construction and Maintenance (RC&M) Ltd.", and "A.A.B. Project Ltd.", which will rehabilitate 57.9 km of roads sections in Kotayk and Aragatsotn marzes;
2. Joint venture of "Talin RC&M" CJSC, "TchanShinVarpet" CJSC, "Kuarlini Ltd." and "Asphaltagorts Ltd.", which will rehabilitate 66 km of roads sections in Aragatsotn and Armavir;
3. "Argishti-1 Ltd." will rehabilitate 43.6 km of roads sections in Tavush marz;
4. Joint venture of "Kapavor Ltd.", "Gavar RC&M" OJSC, "Lori RC&M" CJSC and "Sevan RC&M" CJSC, which will rehabilitate 37.3 km of roads sections in Gegharkunik and Lori marzes;
5. Joint venture of "Kapavor Ltd." and "Idjevan RC&M" CJSC, which will rehabilitate 40.5 km of roads sections in Tavush and Gegharkunik marzes;
6. "Ararat TchanShin Ltd.", which will rehabilitate 27.7 km of roads sections in Ararat, Vayots Dzor and Syunik marzes.
The total value of all contracts is 15,524,974,201 AMD ($51.5 million). The full roads rehabilitation works are programmed to be completed by June 30, 2010.
Technical Audit for roads included in the 1st Package. Winning consultant is Mr.Colin A.Marshall. Technical Audit for roads included in the 1st Package will be comprehensive, and include an analysis of the entire implementation process of the rehabilitation works of the RRRP. The contract value is USD 98,975. The duration of works - from April 2008 to November 2009.
On March 10, 2008 the joint venture of Kocks Consult GmbH (Germany) and "AROSA" LLC signed a consulting contract for the construction supervision of the road sections included in the First package of the RRRP of MCA-Armenia.
According to the contract, the joint venture will supervise the construction works of the road sections included in the First package, as well as H17 Armavir-Isahakyan-Gyumri section (297.4 km).
The contract value is USD 967.340. The duration of works will be 33 months.
Closed out contracts
H-17 Armavir-Isahakyan-Gyumri road km 49+300-km 60+960 road section rehabilitation works supervision Consultant - Andranik Zakaryan. The responsibilities of the individual consultant, implementing supervision include the supervision of all civil works, approval of the construction materials and the works quality in cooperation and after consultation with "ARD" SNCO and the Client. The contract value is AMD 2.136,000 signed on October 29, 2007 to 30 to January 2008.
H-17 Armavir-Isahakyan-Gyumri road km 60+960- km 73+780 road section rehabilitation work's supervision Consultant - Hamlet Sargsyan. The responsibilities of the individual consultantimplementing supervision include the supervision of all civil works, approval of the construction materials and the works quality in cooperation and after consultation with "ARD" SNCO and the Client. The contract value is AMD 2,100,000, signed on October 29, 2007 to 30 January 2008.
"Dorozhnik" LLC acts as a contractor to rehabilitate 24.48 kilometers of the H17 Armavir-Isahakyan-Gyumri road. The contracts signed with "Dorozhnik" LLC are valued at AMD 729,006,318 for works on the Armavir-Isahakyan-Gyumri (km 49+300 – km 60+960) road section, and AMD 773,314,312 for works on the Armavir-Isahakyan-Gyumri (km 60+960 – km 73+780) section.
Consulting contract is awarded to "Finnroad" OY for the review and improvement of the performance based routine maintenance system in Armenia. The contract value is USD 305,000, signed on August 22, 2007 for 9 months.
The MCA-Armenia Rural Road Rehabilitation Project's roads feasibility study and design winning consultant is SWECO International AB (Sweden). The contract value is USD 2,019,430, signed on December 5, 2006 for 3 years.
