Elections 2009

On September 26, 2009 the elections of the Stakeholders' Committee fourth composition members took place in Congress hotel.

Representatives from 378 organizations applied for participation at the elections. In the result of closed secret voting the following 15 candidates from the registered 23 were selected as SC members:

Notice (from the Election Procedure)

The Election Committee will finalize the results of the elections from 18:00 until 21:00.

- The results of the elections and corresponding minutes will be announced by the Chairman and members of Election Committee on the same day at 21:00 during press conference.

- The summary minutes will be provided to the Assistant to the MCA-Armenia SC on the same day at 21:30. The Minutes will be posted on the MCA-Armenia official website on the next day of voting until 16:00.

- Any physical or legal person can act as an observer on elections without preliminary authorization and without interfering into election Procedure.

- 15 candidates with the most votes will be considered the members of Stakeholders' Committee.

- In case of equal number of votes, the priorities will be identified by lottery.

4.1 Each participant has the right to receive one ballot (ballot is attached in Appendix 2) and vote in favor of up to 5 candidates. In case of voting in favor of more than 5 candidates or in case when ballots are marked otherwise or if there is an erase, the ballot will be considered invalid.

4.8 The candidates may place their signatures on the opposite side of the ballots on the day preceding the elections (September 25, 2009) from 14:00-16:00, if they wish.

The deadline to present the applications for participation at the Stakeholders' Committee elections 2009 has been extended till September 18, 2009.

All the interested representatives from non-governmental sector -Non-governmental organizations, Foundations, Unions, Water Users Associations and not-for-profit Farmers' Consumer Cooperatives - are invites to submit applications to the MCA-Armenia office (Melik-Adamyan str. 2/1, Yerevan) not later than September 18, 2009 6 p.m. or send to
elections@mca.am electronic address.

The Application is considered valid if it is fully filled in, signed by the head of the organization and sealed by the organization stamp. Copy of the organization state registration certificate, the brief biography of the organization representative, as well as authorization letter, if the representative is not the head of the organization, should be attached to the application form.

The voting will take place on August 26, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Congress hotel, Picasso Hall (Italia str. 1, Yerevan)

The Stakeholders' Committee is composed of 15 civil society representatives and is called to insure the public participation and transparency in the Program. Five members of the SC are delegated to the Governing Council of the Program, chaired by the Prime Minister, to present the position of the stakeholders in the decision-making process of the Program. The SC membership is on voluntary basis.
