Structure
SC member Viktor Yengibaryan is the founding member and the President of the European Movement in Armenia NGO. Mr. Yengibaryan is currently holding the post of the General Director of the European Education and Research Center, as well as that of the Coordinator of MA Programme European Studies in the German University in Armenia.
Thanks to the education and professional trainings in a number of European universities and educational centres Viktor Yengibaryan is an expert and bearer of European values and European Sciences. Since 2000 he has participated in a number of international and regional conferences and meetings, acted as a member and initiator of numerous educational and cultural events, particularly, participated and coordinated a study tour to Germany and Belgium, European Politics and Values (2008), participated in a Black See Cooperation Conference meeting of EM WG European Neighbourhood Policy, (Bucharest, Romania, 2008).
"European Movement in Armenia" NGO
Established in 2005, the organization contributes to the Armenian European Integration
Process. The movement has about 2,200 participants. The European Movement in Armenia is the only authorized member organization of the International European Movement from all the eastern neighboring states of the EU.
The objectives of the Council of European Movement in Armenia are identified as follows:
1. To establish a pro-European movement, creating NGO networks in local, regional and international levels
2. To disseminate main European values in the Armenian society
3. To promote positive image of Armenia in different European countries, institutions and civil society
4. Inputting the European Studies discipline in the Armenian educational system and increasing interest in the latter within the Armenian society
The Activities of the Council of European Movement in Armenia
Thus, the organization focuses on investigation and fostering the preconditions necessary for the Integration of Armenia with the European family as well as on designing and implementing models, mechanisms and technologies for regional integration.
1. Scientific-educational activities (conducting sociological, political research and analytic work, organizing think-tanks, publications etc).
2. Non-formal education (organization of seminars, trainings, thematic conferences)
3. Public and political activities, "track two" diplomacy (elaboration of legal drafting; evaluation and lobby; PR; co-operation with the RA Parliament, Government, NGO's, European Organizations etc.)
4. Elaboration of integration strategy.
