Stakeholders' Committee

Structure

SC member Shirak Mikayelyan represents "Work and Motherland" NGO in the Stakeholders' Committee, however, his public activities are not limited to that. Since 2001 Shirak Mikayelyan is the President of "Vayots Dzor Branch of Armenian Union of Greens". Since August, 2004 he is the Director of "Tourism Development Center of Vayots Dzor". In the same year he had been engaged in the regional development project REDAM in Vayots Dzor and Ararat marzes supported by EU TASIS.
Shirak Mikayelyan has developed and coordinated a number of projects, in particular, coordinator of the Vayots Dzor Project on services provided by NGOs /CASP/Counterpart International/, Team Leader of the "Livelihood Improvement in Vayots Dzor" project /Oxfam International/, Team Leader of the "Fair and transparent elections in Vayots Dzor" project, as well as Project "Sustainable development of rural communities of Southern Armenia"/Oxfam International/.

Shirak Miqayelyan has served as a team leader in a number of study projects implemented by "Work and Motherland" NGO with support of international organizations (UNDP, UNHCR, TACIS).
Shirak Miqayelyan was the delegation leader of Vayots dzor NGOs in NGO expo essembly and won a prize for the best team work.
Shirak Miqayelyan is a co-author of tourism guidebook.

"Work and Motherland" NGO

NGO mission is contributing to the prosperity of Vayots Dzor communities.
Among the fields of activities of the NGO is support to the employment of the population, professional trainings and qualification improvements, consultation and information distribution, assistance to the local entrepreneurship, contribution to the education and cultural values, development of community projects, support to the development of local tourism, etc.

In the range of the numerous projects implemented by "Work and Motherland" NGO are "Tourism development center in Vayots Dzor" (Eurasia Foundation/USAID 2003-2004), "Public participation in local governance"( Oxfam 2006-2007), "Improvement of Livelihood in Vayots Dzor" (information distribution among rural poputaion, US Embassy 2004-2005), "Information workgroup on election lists" (IFES,2007), "Sustainable development of rural communities of Southern Armenia" /Oxfam International, 2007-2009/.

Since November 2004 the NGO is a member of civil society coordination network.
Since April 2006 NGO is serving as the information center of National Assembly in Vayots Dzor in the frames of "Strengthening of Legislative Project" of USAID
Since May 2008 the NGO is a network member of National Assembly-NGO network.
