Structure
Work experience and professional activities of the SC member Karine Movsisyan is mainly connected with the Syunik marz, in particular, native Goris.
"Goris Youth Union" NGO established in 1994 by K. Movsisyan is among the pioneer non-governmental organizations operating in the territory of the RA. Together with the activities of the NGO Ms. Movsisyan has initiated and coordinated a number of development projects, in particular, community schools, kindergartens rehabilitation, irrigation water canal construction under the project "Community Consolidation initiative" (Director), "Establishing Diagnostic Center of Syunik marz" project (Director), "Healthy Military Service" HIV/Aids prevention project (Director), "Community Resource Center" project (Director), "Syunik Resource Center for Migration" project (Director), etc.
From 2002 to 2007 K. Movsisyan held the positions of the Director of "Southern Block" NGOs' Coalition with participation of 153 NGOs from Syunik and Vayots Dzor marzes, Director of the "Community Consolidation Initiatives" Project established with support of Jinishyan Memorial Foundation (2005-2007), Coordinator for "Community Partnership Component of NOVA Project" supported by USAID, Partner of "Save the Children" NGO, currently, she is coordinating the Project "Tolerant youth precondition for creating a tolerant community" supported by USAID.
K. Movsisyan graduated from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute and has a qualification in electronic mechanization.
The background and objectives of the organization:
Background:
Provide prosperous and healthy life for the youth through establishing Democratic values, Legal Country and Civil Society in Armenia.
Objectives:
- To assist in democracy building, forming a legal country and strengthening the Civil Society in the RA.
- To contribute to community development and protection of population (especially young people) health, and also to promote the peace-keeping activities in the region.
- To implement the advocacy for the youth, and also, for other groups of population.
- To support the sustainability and development of NGO sector in Armenia.
- To implement activities on Advocacy of NGO sector.
- To implement activities on protection of Human Rights.
- To collaborate with local and international organizations, business sector, and state and local self-governmental bodies.
- To participate, and also, organize conferences, seminars, round tables, meetings in order to raise the level of self consciousness of the population.
